Tight deadlines, complex messages and wide range of audiences made this a tough content brief and we loved it.

Content strategy, editorial style guide and copy development for HSIB

The Health Safety Investigation Branch (HSIB) – an independent body carrying out up to 30 health safety investigations in England each year became operational in April 2017.

fffunction  developed the organisation’s website and The Happy Seven developed content for the launch phase of the site using an agile project approach over the course of four weeks.

HSIB had some complex messages to communicate to a number of different audiences about its purpose, the scope of its work and the logistics involved around reporting an incident to HSIB and the process of deciding whether an investigation should be launched.

Working closely with fffunction, The Happy Seven supported the communications team at HSIB to define these messages and map them to different audiences. We also developed a working style guide and tone of voice for this new brand. This then informed IA and copy for the website.

The Happy Seven developed and refined copy over the four-week build with a successful launch of the website ahead of the organisational go-live of 1 April 2017.
