Abby Richardson

What I do:

  • Brand development
  • Celebrity liaison
  • Creative development
  • Media planning
  • Media relations

Proudest moments:

Everything Abby does is carried out with talent, passion and enthusiasm whether it’s increasing the number of visitors to Somerset, promoting the sales of Cornish pasties or selling in a national story for the Fawcett Society. She started working in public relations in 2002, when she joined leading PR agency, Grayling. During her time at the company she gained extensive experience in developing and implementing award-winning consumer campaigns for a vast range of clients. In 2007 she made the decision to leave the consultancy to work on a freelance basis. She has particular expertise in the travel, leisure and food and drink sectors, creating consumer and trade facing campaigns for the likes of Somerset Tourism, Cornwall Council, Cornwall Development Company, Proper Cornish Food Company, English Heritage, Air New Zealand and the Organic Milk Suppliers Cooperative. More recently Abby has focused on stakeholder relations and community engagement programmes for a number of development schemes in Bristol and Cornwall, including The Wave and Higher Newham Farm. Having lived in Venice for a year, Abby is a huge fan of all things Italian. When not at home enjoying life in Cornwall, she can be found brushing up her Italian on family holidays to Emilia Romagna.

Seven things that make me happy:

  • 1 Long Italian lunches
  • 2 Beach days with my boys
  • 3 Walking the Cornish Coast Path
  • 4 Prosecco in the sun
  • 5 Speaking Italian (increasingly 'fluently' when linked to number 4...)
  • 6 Cooking up a feast
  • 7 Hanging out with my massive family (preferably in Italy, drinking prosecco and speaking Italian….!)
